Cattle Artificial Insemination (AI) Course

Cattle Artificial Insemination Course: $750.00 (deposit option available)

This cattle artificial insemination (AI) school/course consists of more than 20 hours of instruction (about 8 hours in the classroom and 12 hours hands-on) working with genital tracts and cows. The course will cover several topics including: ABS and the History of AI, the Equation of Reproduction, Anatomy and
Physiology of Reproduction, Finding the Inseminator Target, Straw Insemination Procedure, Introduction to AI with Cow Reproductive Tracts, Heat Detection and Synchronization, Care and Maintenance of the Nitrogen Tank, Collecting and Processing of Bull Semen, Record Keeping, Cattle Handling, Facilities and Equipment, Nutrition, Sire Selection and Herd Health. Students will receive lots of hours of practice with AI in live cows and a bonus demonstration of the AI procedure through ultrasonography imaging in genital tracts and live animals.
Payments can be made online (preferentially) or by check/money order. Check or money order payments should be made to "Cattle AI Short Course - FY 2026 - Apr. 17-18, 2026". If you need to send a check in the mail, you must call or email and let us know it is being sent.
Additional Note:
You will need a change of clothes (coveralls or clothes that can get dirty) and rubber boots for the
cow practice sessions. Fingernails must not extend past the fingertip and need to be trimmed if longer.
Additionally, please bring something to take notes with (pen and paper, computer, etc.) for the lecture
sessions.

Additional Required Documentation: Prior to the start of the course, participants must submit a signed Release of Liability Form and a completed Photo Release Form. Please also bring one form of government-issued identification (driver's license or passport) and proof of health insurance coverage to the course.
